Upcoming Movie: Death on the Nile

We were excited when we first caught wind that this movie was in the works. Unfortunately, the release was pushed back like many other movies. This one is still a way off with a new release date of February 11th of next year, but we're hoping it will be well worth the wait.

I'm a fan of the 1978 version with Bette Davis, Maggie Smith & Angela Lansbury. Just about anything Angela Lansbury is usually enough to catch my attention. I'm rather excited for this remake and the new cast. Kenneth Branagh is returning as the iconic detective Hercule Poirot after last portraying the role in 2017's Murder on the Orient Express. We can't wait for this one to release next February.

Here's the blurb from the 20th Century Studios website:

Belgian sleuth Hercule Poirot’s Egyptian vacation aboard a glamorous river steamer turns into a terrifying search for a murderer when a picture-perfect couple’s idyllic honeymoon is tragically cut short. Set against an epic landscape of sweeping desert vistas and the majestic Giza pyramids, this tale of unbridled passion and incapacitating jealousy features a cosmopolitan group of impeccably dressed travelers, and enough wicked twists and turns to leave audiences guessing until the final, shocking denouement.

Play a Murder Mystery Game with Friends

Good Day Adventurers,

We are happy to announce that Murder Mystery Box has a murder mystery game available. On occasion, we've had inquiries regarding how many people can play our Murder Mystery Boxes.  While it is possible to enjoy a box with a group, (The Caretaker even posted a note on the website about it) it's more meant for a solo sleuth or a duo of detectives.

Murder Mystery Box has created a game entitled Foul Play for two or more players. The game contains three mysteries to solve with the same group of suspects. Game play times vary depending on the number of players and how vigorous the game is played, but can last from about 20-30 minutes and up per mystery.

With the current price at $20.99, it's an economical entertainment option for your next gathering. Oh, and shipping is on us. For your next get together, consider our murder mystery game Foul Play.

Halloween Comes Early

The eleventh film in the franchise, the latest Halloween film serves as a direct sequel to John Carpenter’s seminal 1978 film of the same name.

In it, series star Curtis returns to her role of embattled final girl Laurie Strode, as does Nick Castle to his role of Michael Myers. They are joined by Judy Greer as Karen Strode, Laurie’s daughter, and Andi Matichak as Allyson Strode, Laurie’s granddaughter.

Laurie Strode comes to her final confrontation with Michael Myers, the masked figure who has haunted her since she narrowly escaped his killing spree on Halloween night four decades ago.
Universal Pictures will release Halloween worldwide tomorrow on October 19, 2018.

Clue to Next Quarter's Murder Mystery Box

Greetings Adventurers,

It’s Nettie here. So, I’m not really involved with selecting the next quarter’s Murder Mystery Box. However, as you can imagine, I have my ways of finding things out.

I heard some whispering in the halls today. I wasn’t able to get much information, but I did catch a speck of info to pass along. It sounds like next quarter’s box may have something to do with fortune. I'm not sure of the context of it. Is it a fortune teller? Is it a fortune in wealth? It's anyone's guess at this point.

I wish I could tell you what’s all involved, but that’s all I was able to get out of it this time around. I'll keep snooping and let you know if I stumble upon anything else. TTYS

Mystery Subscription Blog Take Over

Greetings Adventurers,

This blog is being taken over by me, Curator Nettie and Archivist Thaddeus. We will be posting here from time to time about the happenings at Murder Mystery Box.

We figured, since our beloved Caretaker has a blog, why not us? After a whole lot of effort from Thad and me, and with the blessing of The Caretaker, we were able to take hold of this space.

Thad and I will trade off who posts when. Sometimes I’ll post here and sometimes it’ll be Thad. I think it’s a neat idea, that way you can see our different perspectives.

Well, I’m going to scoot for now, but I just wanted to touch bases and let you all know that we’ve taken over the blog over here. TTYS
